9.Bonus Tip For Wannabe History Bloggers!

2020 has been a tumultuous year for all of us especially due to the pandemic. But this also opened up a large amount of creativity among people amidst the lockdown. I too started this History Blog four months ago when I thought I would die from boredom.

Maybe it’s time you too start a History Blog or Blog of any Niche!

1.Why should You start a Blog?

Well Because its fun to have something you own. Having your own website and sharing information in it is so fun and even an enriching experience.

Plus you can learn a lot as you need to research a bit or read a bit  to make a blog post which is informative and readable.

And as Jordan B Peterson said, If you can think and write efficiently you become deadly. The information you write will be stuck into your mind than when you simply read a stuff.

For example when I read the Book sapiens 2 times, I could recollect some of the elements but not all. But when I wrote a blog post here, I could almost instantaneously recollect all the vital points in the book.

So writing is an underrated skill!

Plus you can make money out of your blog by either monetizing it with ad networks or by affiliate marketing!

So there is a plenty of reasons why you should start a History blog or blog of any niche in 2022!

Ok I am convinced about starting a Blog, But from where do I start a Blog?. Read on!

2.Where to Start a Blog?

You can simply use or to start a website from scratch in less than 5 minutes!.

So in points here are some things which you should remember/do-

3.Selecting The Blogging Platform.

I personally use Blogger. But if you are really serious you should start with than with

37% of the websites in the world is powered by WordPress, That’s how widely popular it is. By the way if you are not much serious you can always start with blogger as it is easy to use. Plus whenever you feel to use blogging seriously you can transfer your site to WordPress.

After you get used to them I would recommend you to host a custom domain. Hosting is relatively cheap as much as a latte coffee you buy occasionally.

For example, This History Blog was first started on blogger as and later I purchased a GoDaddy domain and changed it to

Hosting Services for custom domains which are Cheap-

By the way remember to choose a .com domain name over .org , .tech etc. as .com is still the most famous domain name out there.

4.Selecting The Niche

Almost 2 years ago I started having an interest in WW2 and its history and Soon I found myself watching a lot of movies on it and started writing answers about it on a Q and A platform called Quora.

After a while I started getting interested more about history especially after reading the book SAPIENS and soon it originated into a blog which you are reading right now.

Similarly, You too would have some kind if an interest. Maybe finance?. Maybe reading books? Maybe about technology? Maybe about History just like me?

Think deep on anything which you feel you know a bit more than an average person around you.

Yes.That’s Your Niche!

Don’t ever start a blog without deciding a Niche. If you think you are simply going to write stuff on whatever topics you feel writing on your blog, It would be havoc.

So decide the niche before even thinking about starting a blog.

5.Setting up and Designing the Blog-

Use this site for best free blogger templates. Download your favorite template file you picked and extract it and upload it in case of blogger

In case of WordPress there are enough cool templates on the site itself.

Points to Remember while setting up the Blog-

-Have a catchy heading for your blog

-Always research before writing a blog post

-While you need not focus on the SEO and Keyword research at first, Gradually try to learn more on them.

-Keep the Blog post so simple that even a 7 year old can understand it.

-Write consistently whether its once a week or once in 3 days.

-Don’t forget

+An About page

+A Privacy Policy Page.

6.Monetizing the Blog

Apply for Adsense directly on the earnings tab in case of Blogger. Adsense is the foremost way to monetize the blog. They are from google and hence trustable too.

Adsense could take some time to be approved, So if u need a quick scheme to monetize you can choose and of the following-

Adsterra provides an almost instant approval provided that you blog has some content in it and the payout is as low as 5 dollars. So Adsterra is a good way to start monetizing the blog!

2.Propeller Ads

is a large ad network that offers a range of adverts like banners, sponsored links, push notifications, and allows you to reach 1 billion users.

Instant Approval .This system uses popups as ads. So if you are okay with it go for them as they pay good if u have some decent amount of vistor’s to your blog.

(There are also other AD Networks which you can add Ads.I used the above three personally in this blog,Hence I only mentioned them.)

7.Getting Traffic to the Blog

My Blog has touched 70000 visits which I drive from various social media networks.

Here are some ways you can drive traffic to your blog-

Quora is a Q and A platform. Write Quality answers on your Quora platform and attach the links to your website accordingly to the answers. If your answer is really good and the algorithm loves it it will spread like a wildfire and people will start clicking on your blog links.

Start a Reddit account. Engage with the community and join them too. For example if your blog is of the niche technology, Join subreddits like r/technology.

But don’t spam.

Be an active participant and actually provide value to the community, They will always support back where you will get a lot of people in visits.

Start a Facebook page about your blog and start posting your contents in it, Also you can promote the page very cheaply and hence getting god traffic at a low price!.

Post some of your interesting blog posts as threads on twitter and start building an audience. Twitter is pretty cool way to get traffic.

6.Telegram channel

Most don’t do this actually. But it works!.There aren’t really much good niched telegram channel.

It has almost 230 plus subscribers over there.(Not much,But they are sure visitors to my site).Plus it’s free to start a channel. So start one for your blog!

8.Starting a Newsletter

Starting a newsletter with important contents in the form of daily or weekly mails can help create a bond with the readers and the will always stick around your blog and be regular visitors.

You can collect mails by embedding a sign-up form in your blog by using mailing services like MailChimp.

9.Bonus Tips For Wannabe History Bloggers!

Starting a History Blog is really a fun way to learn and earn money. By the way remember that there aren’t much history blogs compared to tech and health niches.

Plus if you are a regular reader and felt history to be interesting, It is always good to have a blog.

How To Find Topics For Your History Blog?

Read a lot. Find topics which you feel isn’t properly written as a Blogspost in the internet. There is a wide scope for a history blog!

Starting a Blog is the best way to Learn and Earn as said Above.Even if it doesn’t fly off well enough as intended, It can stimulate you intellectually.

How a single second of action bought a communist dictatorship to an end.

Communism was an ideology which thrived for 80 long years until it started loosing its control from the late 1980’s.Communist regimes started crumbling one by one due to defective organization.

In the last few months of the decade, Berlin wall fell and countries where communism reigned for years such as Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria were being swept by revolutions.

Nicolae Ceaușescu, The Communist Dictator of Romania knew that at this rate revolutions would soon hit his government. But he was confident that he could withstand the revolution. He didn’t even bother the riots against his government rule in The Romanian city of Timișoara on 17th December 1989.

To prove the Romanians and the rest of the world that majority of the population loved him (or feared him),He organized a mega rally and filled the Romanian City square with 80,000 people on 21st of December 1989.

All of Romanians were instructed to stop whatever they were doing at that time and tune into their televisions and radios to hear speech of Nicolae Ceaușescu.

The crowd which gathered were enthusiastic holding flags, with the usual placards that said “long live Ceausescu” and, “long live the Romanian Communist Party”

A crowd of 80,000 with placards of “Long Live Ceausescu”

And Nicolae Ceaușescu at his building balcony started to give a riveting speech with “Dear Comrades and Friends…”(as he always did countless times before) and boasted on the greatness of Romanian socialism for a period of 8 minutes and the crowed clapped along to whatever he said.

The Beginning of the End

And Immediately what followed simply changed the history of Romania.

Just as Nicolae Ceaușescu starts another sentence of his speech saying ‘I want to thank the initiators and organizers of this great event in Bucharest, considering it as a—-’

And suddenly Nicolae Ceaușescu becomes silent and freezes in shock and disbelief as you can see in the below image.

Nicolae in disbelief.

In a matter of one second his life changed.

Someone in the crowed booed.

And following that person another booed.

And another and another and another.

Within a matter of few seconds the entire masses of the people gathered at the city began booing and shouting and cursing abuse on Nicolae Ceaușescu.

And mind you this all happened in live Television ,The entire Romanian population heard and saw what was happening on Television and radios abusing him.

The Securiate -The secret police of the government ordered the live broadcast to be stopped immediately.

But the Television crews disobeyed.

They still recorded it live. Now all of Romania saw what was happening.

Nicolae Ceaușescu yelled “Hello Hello!”  acting as if it was the problem was with the mike in front of him.

HIs wife Elena ordered the population to shut up, But Nicolae Ceaușescu scolded her in front of live television ‘You be quiet’! and he appealed the crowed in the square “My comrades be quiet comrades….”

Nicolae with his wife Elena,4 days before they get executed.

But they never did.

The Romanian communist government crumbled.

Nicolae Ceaușescu dominated the 20 million Romanians for years. All ended when a person booed and others followed him.

The Agitated Crowd

All because of that one second.(By the way no one knows who booed first, It still remains a mystery to this day.

After this speech Nicolae Ceaușescu ran away and was caught almost immediately and was executed 4 days later, still wearing the same clothes.

The main charge against him in the Trial was genocide—namely, murdering “over 60,000 people” during the revolution in Timișoara.

Homo erectus Homo floresiensis Homo naledi Homo neanderthalensis The Denisovans what was the first species of humans when did the first humans evolve

The Ancient Human species

When did the first human’s evolve ?, What was the first species of humans ?. All these are real interesting questions. Let’s dive deep to find the answers!

Every Animal has its own Species. Species are a group of living organisms consisting of similar individuals capable of exchanging genes or interbreeding.

For example, Dog’s are of the species Canis lupus familiaris.

We Humans used to think that we were unique and had no such species and types.

But this was pure ignorance from our side.
Yuval Noah Harari in his Book titled “SAPIENS” quoted-

Just 6 million years ago, a single female ape had two daughters. One became the ancestor of all chimpanzees, the other is our own grandmother.

After some periods of evolution The First Ancestors of Humans evolved about 2.5 million years ago from an earlier genus of apes called Australopithecus which literally means “Southern Ape”

Different Types Of Humans lived throughout History.

It is said that there were 14 species of Humans on earth.

Only one remains now, which is us Humans,ie-Homo Sapiens.

When did the first humans evolve?

The first humans evolved around 7 million years ago. Most of them were least similar to us homo sapiens which is shown below.

What was the first species of humans ?

The first species of humans were Homo Habilis . They were the least similar to us Homo Sapiens, Homo Habilis also had ape like figures and had long arms.

Now Let’s look about 5 major types of  the different type of humans that lived on Earth-

This Human species was said to be the first recognizable human species to walk on earth 2 million years ago.

This human species is also said to be the first to move out of Africa.

They also were the first human species to make rafts to cross over water bodies and also said to have the ability to cook food before eating.

This species is said to have reigned for 2 million years!. Most probably us homo sapiens cant break this record.

Homo sapiens. Homo antecessor. Homo erectus. Homo ergaster. Homo floresiensis. Homo habilis. Homo heidelbergensis. Homo luzonensis.,species human

Homo Erectus.An Image.Credits-

Homo Soloensis is a subspecies of Homo erectus which lived along the Solo River in Java, Indonesia, about 117 thousand years ago.

Homo floresiensis a.k.a “hobbit” is a species of small archaic human that inhabited the island Indonesia until the arrival of modern humans about 50,000 years ago.

They weighed no more than 25kg and did not exceed 1 meters in height.

They most likely were wiped off earth due to Volcano eruptions.

As said above Homo Habilis were the least similar to Homo  Sapiens,Homo Habilis had ape like figures and had long arms

the most famous of all human species(other than us homo sapiens of course)

If you have watched the intro theme song of The Big Bang Theory,You must have surely heard this-

Our whole universe was in a hot, dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started, wait
The earth began to cool, the autotrophs began to drool
Neanderthals developed tools
We built a wall (we built the pyramids)
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries
That all started with the big bang! Hey!

Yes they had large brains to make tools

Homo sapiens and Neanderthals almost looked the same, If you would put a Neanderthal dressed in homo sapiens clothes and put them on a street full of people, Chances are the people would not even bat an eye on it!

Neanderthals thrived in Europe from 350,000 to about
 40,000 years ago.Smithsonian Institution

It was also later discovered that homo sapiens mated with Neanderthals.

And many Humans now have some percentage of D.N.A of Neanderthals with them.

An ancient Human’s D.N.A showed that it contained 10% Neanderthal D.N.A mixed in it.

They also had large brain’s and were intelligent.

But they eventually died out roughly 40000 years ago.Their cause of death is still unknown,

Either due to replacement theory or interbreeding theory.

As Yuval Noah Harari in his Book “SAPIENS” mentioned, If Neanderthals were alive, would they have the same rights as of homo sapiens?

That’s a question to ponder on for a long time!

RASPUTIN-Russia’s Biggest Love Machine

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago

He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear
He could preach the Bible like a preacher
Full of ecstasy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
Women would desire

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia’s greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

The above lyrics got so famous on tik-tok,But do we really know who Grigori rasputin a.k.a Rasputin the Love Machine is?

Rasputin the love machine was born in Siberia in 1869 to a peasant family.

Later on in his life Rasputin was inspired by the monks and soon Rasputin became one. On his travels he visited a lot of places and the natives of the places Rasputin visited used to be mesmerized by Rasputin’s magical presence.

But Rasputin the love machine was simply a thief and an alcoholic.

As written earlier, people were often mesmerized by Rasputin’s personality and his looks so much that he finally found a place in St. Petersburg where Rasputin used his charisma to find a place in the palace.

The Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra were orthodox Christians. They both were also superstitious and believed in mysticism.

Hence it was easier for Rasputin to find a top spot in the palace.

Rasputin the Love Machine cemented his place in the top because of one incident. Two things caused headaches to the palace- One was the crippling monarchy. The Tsar knew that the monarchy could be replaced by the revolutionaries if he was not careful.

The other problem he faced was with his son, who also was next in line for the throne-Alexia.

Alexia had contracted a disease named hemophilia and was being treated by the doctors day in and out. But Rasputin who was already in a good spot in the palace advised the Tsar to reject the medicine used to treat Alexia. The Tsar obliged and soon the doctors were removed.

After a few days Alexia showed some considerable Improvement in his health and everyone thought it was due to the advice of Rasputin along with his magical powers that cured Alexia.

But recent studies and findings showed that the doctors at that time used aspirin on hemophilia patients which actually increased the chances of death in hemophilia patients. Hence, The reason Alexia got cured was because Aspirin treatment was stopped.

But people at that time credited it to Rasputin’s Mysterious powers.

Rasputin also made a prophecy later in which he said that if he was killed, Alexia would die and the monarchy would be dead.

Soon Rasputin reached a high point where it was almost impossible to remove him from the palace.

This caused both support and distress by the citizens.

Rasputin was well received by the poor peasants as they felt they came from him, While the nobilities hated him for his more-than-necessary influence in the palace.

Felix Yusopov was one of the people who despised Rasputin and wanted to assassinate him and started making plans to kill Rasputin.

Some attempts done to assassinate him already failed. One was when Felix Yusopov stuffed cyanide into some pastries which were to be eaten by Rasputin.

But one of the co-helpers of Felix Yusopov had a change of heart and replaced the cyanide with some harmless material.

When Felix Yusopov saw Rasputin relishing the pastries without any sense of uneasiness, Felix Yusopov got desperate and took out his gun and shot Rasputin at point blank.

Yet Rasputin recovered, hit all the people around him and ran off. Soon Felix Yusopov and his team hunted Rasputin down, Shot him and threw his body in the Neva river.

Just as Rasputin prophesied ,The Tsar lost his throne and his son never became a king. Monarchy got crushed by the revolution.

But was it due to Rasputin the love machines prophecy or was it because of the long political battle by the monarchy and the revolutionaries?

We may never know!

Grigori Rasputin is a popular person, the Russian Mystic and the close aide of the Tsarina Alexandra, who believed that Rasputin could cure her son. Which he kind of did but nobody knew how. With that Rasputin had the royalty in his hand.

Tsar Nicholas never went against his wife’s wishes. So when she insisted on taking advice from Rasputin, Tsar did so.

And that led to the inexperienced Tsar leading the weak Russia into the WW1.

When the Tsar was away it was Rasputin who ran the country, he dismissed all the nobility and appointed people close to him.

It made the public hate the royalty even more, who was already losing power. Rasputin just sped up the whole Russian revolution and the rise of the Bolsheviks.

Rasputin was shot dead on December 30 1916. After his death the revolutionaries dethroned the royals and expelled them to Siberia where they were eventually killed.

The weakened economy of Russia after the war was one of the main reasons for the revolution had not Russia lost the war or was having a good economy things would have been different.

The Beer Hall Putsch-

On November 8–9, 1923, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party led a coalition group in an attempt to overthrow the German government. The plotters hoped to march on Berlin to launch a national revolution.

But their plan failed miserably.

Early Nazis who participated in the attempt to seize power during the 1923 Putsch

Hitler was convicted of treason and sentenced to five years in prison. He spent less than a year behind bars, during which time he dictated “Mein Kampf,” his political autobiography.

The putsch was a massive failure but Hitler’s Trial turned him into a National Figure.

On 4th May, The NSDAP contests the Reichstag elections for the first time, winning a total of 24 seats. Not enough to be a powerful force, But it was good enough nonetheless.

Hitler declares the reformulation of the Nazi Party (NSDAP) with himself as leader (Führer). He makes the declaration at the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich, the beer hall where he led his aborted coup against the democratically elected government in 1923.

By the beginning of 1926, Hitler had overcome any remaining rivals within the Nazi Party and assumed the title of supreme leader. Ideological differences and infighting between factions of the Nazi Party were resolved by Hitler through his considerable powers of personal oratory skills.

Official films for the rallies began in 1927, with the establishment of the NSDAP (Nazi Party) film office.

Nazi’s fail miserably in the elections by just tallying 12 seats.

End Of Nazism and Hitler?

You know it’s not.

Josef Goebbels is appointed head of the NSDAP propaganda department. Another Reichstag election sees a dramatic boost in NSDAP seats, from 14 to 107.

All thanks to Propaganda.

The Great Depression hits the Germans very hard.

Germans are extremely angry with the Government.

And as we know extreme ideology parties(left or right) grow in these conditions.

Nazi’s get 18% of the Votes in the 1930’s elections. Nazi’s start becoming a Power.

Nazis Fight hard, But Hidenburg Becomes the president again. But this time Hitler garnered almost 355 of the votes polled.

No government can be formed because of unstable coalition and hence no cabinet.

Lack of national unity and unstable Cabinet made The president Hidenburg to make Hitler The Chancellor Of Weimar Republic.

Hidenburg hated Hitler, But he did this for National Unity.

February 1933-

The Reichstag Fire-

The Reichstag fire was an arson attack on the Reichstag building, home of the German parliament in Berlin, on Monday 27 February 1933, precisely four weeks after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany.

Hitler blamed it on the communists and persuaded the president to suspend civil rights(yes the president had such a huge power)to maintain stability.

On March, The Nazis accumulate 44% of the Votes, Not enough to form a government, But they became the largest voted party.

With Coalitions, They form the Government.

March 1933-

The Enabling Act allowed the Reich government to issue laws without the consent of Germany’s parliament, laying the foundation for the complete Nazification of German society.

July 1933-

On 14 July 1933 Germany became a one-party state decreeing the Nazi Party to be the sole legal party in Germany.

All other parties were made illegal. This was the point where Hitler held all the powers.

This was the point Germany fell under Dictatorship.

What followed were the greatest crimes in Modern Human History.

You can Never take Neitczhe out of Nazism

You can now also listen to this article on Spotify above!

You can take Nazism out of Neitczhe, but you can never take Neitczhe out of Nazism.

Dheeraj Mohan

It isn’t that surprising that the German philosopher influenced the Nazis because he has influenced the whole world but none more than the Nazis, who believed that the Aryan race was the Ubermensch described by Neitczhe.

Neitczhe never was a Nazi and neither did he share their ideology

He wasn’t even a nihilist as many believe him to be. He merely believed that Nihilism was a point in the journey to become the Ubermensch or the Supermen.

He believed that the men of the future would be able to make thier own morals and will not be controlled by dead ideals. His famous claim “God is dead” says that the people who have killed the god have broken their chains and have become higher beings. People who are aware of what was.

The Nazis in contradiction believed the very German people were the Ubermensch and thus wanted to create a world of their own “Supermen”.

It shows how a harmless philosophy can be bent into dogmas by individuals.

Neitczhe on the other hand died in solitude and become acknowledged only after his death.

The ‘teddy bear’ is named after U.S. President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr., often referred to as Teddy or his initials T. R., was an American statesman, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer, who served as the 26th  President of the United States from 1901 to 1909.

Roosevelt was also the first President to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

In 1902, President Roosevelt participated in a bear-hunting trip in Mississippi. During the
trip, the guides clubbed a bear and tied it to a tree then invited the president to shoot it.

Instead of shooting the tied bear, Roosevelt  declared the behavior of the other hunters “unsportsmanlike” and refused to shoot the bear. The news of “The President not shooting the bear’ became a senstional news and spread across the country.

Many newspapers around the country featured political cartoons starring “Teddy” and “the bear.”
Image-The Washington Post which shows the incident with a small title-“Drawing the lines in Mississippi”

This news reached to a shop owner named Morris Michtom in New York who saw one of the cartoons and had an idea. Michtom and his wife created soft and plush stuffed bears and placed them in the front window of their shop.

With the permission from Roosevelt, Michtom named the bears “Teddy bears.” Hence came the name “Teddy Bears”.They went on to become a massive success.

Roosevelt also used the “teddy bear” icon in his re-election campaigns.
