THE ANCIENT HUMAN SPECIES

The Ancient Human species

When did the first human’s evolve ?, What was the first species of humans ?. All these are real interesting questions. Let’s dive deep to find the answers!

Every Animal has its own Species. Species are a group of living organisms consisting of similar individuals capable of exchanging genes or interbreeding.

For example, Dog’s are of the species Canis lupus familiaris.

We Humans used to think that we were unique and had no such species and types.

But this was pure ignorance from our side.
Yuval Noah Harari in his Book titled “SAPIENS” quoted-

Just 6 million years ago, a single female ape had two daughters. One became the ancestor of all chimpanzees, the other is our own grandmother.

After some periods of evolution The First Ancestors of Humans evolved about 2.5 million years ago from an earlier genus of apes called Australopithecus which literally means “Southern Ape”

Different Types Of Humans lived throughout History.

It is said that there were 14 species of Humans on earth.

Only one remains now, which is us Humans,ie-Homo Sapiens.

When did the first humans evolve?

The first humans evolved around 7 million years ago. Most of them were least similar to us homo sapiens which is shown below.

What was the first species of humans ?

The first species of humans were Homo Habilis . They were the least similar to us Homo Sapiens, Homo Habilis also had ape like figures and had long arms.

Now Let’s look about 5 major types of  the different type of humans that lived on Earth-

1.HOMO ERECTUS

This Human species was said to be the first recognizable human species to walk on earth 2 million years ago.

This human species is also said to be the first to move out of Africa.

They also were the first human species to make rafts to cross over water bodies and also said to have the ability to cook food before eating.

This species is said to have reigned for 2 million years!. Most probably us homo sapiens cant break this record.

Homo sapiens. Homo antecessor. Homo erectus. Homo ergaster. Homo floresiensis. Homo habilis. Homo heidelbergensis. Homo luzonensis.,species human

Homo Erectus.An Image.Credits-

2.HOMO SOLOENSIS

Homo Soloensis is a subspecies of Homo erectus which lived along the Solo River in Java, Indonesia, about 117 thousand years ago.

3.HOMO FLORESIENSIS-

Homo floresiensis a.k.a “hobbit” is a species of small archaic human that inhabited the island Indonesia until the arrival of modern humans about 50,000 years ago.

They weighed no more than 25kg and did not exceed 1 meters in height.

They most likely were wiped off earth due to Volcano eruptions.

4.HOMO HABILIS,

As said above Homo Habilis were the least similar to Homo  Sapiens,Homo Habilis had ape like figures and had long arms

5.NEANDERTHALS

the most famous of all human species(other than us homo sapiens of course)

If you have watched the intro theme song of The Big Bang Theory,You must have surely heard this-

Our whole universe was in a hot, dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started, wait
The earth began to cool, the autotrophs began to drool
Neanderthals developed tools
We built a wall (we built the pyramids)
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries
That all started with the big bang! Hey!

Yes they had large brains to make tools

Homo sapiens and Neanderthals almost looked the same, If you would put a Neanderthal dressed in homo sapiens clothes and put them on a street full of people, Chances are the people would not even bat an eye on it!

Neanderthals thrived in Europe from 350,000 to about
 40,000 years ago.Smithsonian Institution

It was also later discovered that homo sapiens mated with Neanderthals.

And many Humans now have some percentage of D.N.A of Neanderthals with them.

An ancient Human’s D.N.A showed that it contained 10% Neanderthal D.N.A mixed in it.

They also had large brain’s and were intelligent.

But they eventually died out roughly 40000 years ago.Their cause of death is still unknown,

Either due to replacement theory or interbreeding theory.

As Yuval Noah Harari in his Book “SAPIENS” mentioned, If Neanderthals were alive, would they have the same rights as of homo sapiens?

That’s a question to ponder on for a long time!

RASPUTIN-Russia’s Biggest Love Machine

RASPUTIN,RUSSIA’S BIGGEST LOVE MACHINE

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago

He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear
He could preach the Bible like a preacher
Full of ecstasy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
Women would desire

Ra ra Rasputin
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
Ra ra Rasputin
Russia’s greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

The above lyrics got so famous on tik-tok,But do we really know who Grigori rasputin a.k.a Rasputin the Love Machine is?

                                                                    IMAGE-https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rasputin_PA.jpg

THE ORIGIN OF RASPUTIN A.K.A THE LOVE MACHINE

Rasputin the love machine was born in Siberia in 1869 to a peasant family.

Later on in his life Rasputin was inspired by the monks and soon Rasputin became one. On his travels he visited a lot of places and the natives of the places Rasputin visited used to be mesmerized by Rasputin’s magical presence.

But Rasputin the love machine was simply a thief and an alcoholic.

As written earlier, people were often mesmerized by Rasputin’s personality and his looks so much that he finally found a place in St. Petersburg where Rasputin used his charisma to find a place in the palace.

The Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra were orthodox Christians. They both were also superstitious and believed in mysticism.

Hence it was easier for Rasputin to find a top spot in the palace.

Rasputin the Love Machine cemented his place in the top because of one incident. Two things caused headaches to the palace- One was the crippling monarchy. The Tsar knew that the monarchy could be replaced by the revolutionaries if he was not careful.

The other problem he faced was with his son, who also was next in line for the throne-Alexia.

Alexia had contracted a disease named hemophilia and was being treated by the doctors day in and out. But Rasputin who was already in a good spot in the palace advised the Tsar to reject the medicine used to treat Alexia. The Tsar obliged and soon the doctors were removed.

After a few days Alexia showed some considerable Improvement in his health and everyone thought it was due to the advice of Rasputin along with his magical powers that cured Alexia.

But recent studies and findings showed that the doctors at that time used aspirin on hemophilia patients which actually increased the chances of death in hemophilia patients. Hence, The reason Alexia got cured was because Aspirin treatment was stopped.

But people at that time credited it to Rasputin’s Mysterious powers.

Rasputin also made a prophecy later in which he said that if he was killed, Alexia would die and the monarchy would be dead.

rasputin love machine

Soon Rasputin reached a high point where it was almost impossible to remove him from the palace.

This caused both support and distress by the citizens.

Rasputin was well received by the poor peasants as they felt they came from him, While the nobilities hated him for his more-than-necessary influence in the palace.

THE PLOT TO KILL RASPUTIN

Felix Yusopov was one of the people who despised Rasputin and wanted to assassinate him and started making plans to kill Rasputin.

Some attempts done to assassinate him already failed. One was when Felix Yusopov stuffed cyanide into some pastries which were to be eaten by Rasputin.

But one of the co-helpers of Felix Yusopov had a change of heart and replaced the cyanide with some harmless material.

When Felix Yusopov saw Rasputin relishing the pastries without any sense of uneasiness, Felix Yusopov got desperate and took out his gun and shot Rasputin at point blank.

Yet Rasputin recovered, hit all the people around him and ran off. Soon Felix Yusopov and his team hunted Rasputin down, Shot him and threw his body in the Neva river.

Just as Rasputin prophesied ,The Tsar lost his throne and his son never became a king. Monarchy got crushed by the revolution.

But was it due to Rasputin the love machines prophecy or was it because of the long political battle by the monarchy and the revolutionaries?

We may never know!

SUMMARY FOR TL;DR

RASPUTIN THE LOVE MACHINE

Grigori Rasputin is a popular person, the Russian Mystic and the close aide of the Tsarina Alexandra, who believed that Rasputin could cure her son. Which he kind of did but nobody knew how. With that Rasputin had the royalty in his hand.

Tsar Nicholas never went against his wife’s wishes. So when she insisted on taking advice from Rasputin, Tsar did so.

And that led to the inexperienced Tsar leading the weak Russia into the WW1.

When the Tsar was away it was Rasputin who ran the country, he dismissed all the nobility and appointed people close to him.

It made the public hate the royalty even more, who was already losing power. Rasputin just sped up the whole Russian revolution and the rise of the Bolsheviks.

Rasputin was shot dead on December 30 1916. After his death the revolutionaries dethroned the royals and expelled them to Siberia where they were eventually killed.

The weakened economy of Russia after the war was one of the main reasons for the revolution had not Russia lost the war or was having a good economy things would have been different.

You can Never take Neitczhe out of Nazism

You can now also listen to this article on Spotify above!

You can take Nazism out of Neitczhe, but you can never take Neitczhe out of Nazism.

Dheeraj Mohan

It isn’t that surprising that the German philosopher influenced the Nazis because he has influenced the whole world but none more than the Nazis, who believed that the Aryan race was the Ubermensch described by Neitczhe.

Neitczhe never was a Nazi and neither did he share their ideology

He wasn’t even a nihilist as many believe him to be. He merely believed that Nihilism was a point in the journey to become the Ubermensch or the Supermen.

He believed that the men of the future would be able to make thier own morals and will not be controlled by dead ideals. His famous claim “God is dead” says that the people who have killed the god have broken their chains and have become higher beings. People who are aware of what was.

The Nazis in contradiction believed the very German people were the Ubermensch and thus wanted to create a world of their own “Supermen”.

It shows how a harmless philosophy can be bent into dogmas by individuals.

Neitczhe on the other hand died in solitude and become acknowledged only after his death.

TEDDY BEAR AND THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT

TEDDY BEAR AND THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT

The ‘teddy bear’ is named after U.S. President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr., often referred to as Teddy or his initials T. R., was an American statesman, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer, who served as the 26th  President of the United States from 1901 to 1909.

Roosevelt was also the first President to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

In 1902, President Roosevelt participated in a bear-hunting trip in Mississippi. During the
trip, the guides clubbed a bear and tied it to a tree then invited the president to shoot it.

Instead of shooting the tied bear, Roosevelt  declared the behavior of the other hunters “unsportsmanlike” and refused to shoot the bear. The news of “The President not shooting the bear’ became a senstional news and spread across the country.

Many newspapers around the country featured political cartoons starring “Teddy” and “the bear.”
Image-The Washington Post which shows the incident with a small title-“Drawing the lines in Mississippi”

This news reached to a shop owner named Morris Michtom in New York who saw one of the cartoons and had an idea. Michtom and his wife created soft and plush stuffed bears and placed them in the front window of their shop.

With the permission from Roosevelt, Michtom named the bears “Teddy bears.” Hence came the name “Teddy Bears”.They went on to become a massive success.

Roosevelt also used the “teddy bear” icon in his re-election campaigns.

Propaganda Posters used By Nazis

1 minute read.

The Propaganda used by the German Nazi Germany in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler’s  leadership of Germany (1933–1945) was a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of Nazi Policies.

The Nazis effectively used propaganda to win the support of millions of Germans in a democracy and, later in a dictatorship, to facilitate persecution, war, and ultimately genocide. The stereotypes and images found in Nazi propaganda were not new, but were already familiar to their intended audience.

Here are some gruesome posters made by Nazis for flooding out propaganda to seed hatred towards people other than “Aryans”-

This poster from a eugenics exhibition in the 1930s reads, “Sterilization is Liberation, Not a Punishment.” Three handicapped children are also pictured with the caption, “Who would want to be responsible for this?”

60,000 Reich marks. What this person suffering from is hereditary defects costs the People’s community during his lifetime. Comrade, that is your money too.

Nazi propaganda slide contrasting how far 5.50 German Marks will go. The cost of feeding one person with a hereditary disease for one day is the same as it would cost to feed an entire family of healthy Germans.

A poster showing the belief that the “inferiority traits” are passed on more easily than “high value traits”.

One thing that shudders me the most is these posters are not even a century old.

Lets hope these type of cruelty never happen again.
